On behalf of the International Society of Sport Psychology’s Managing Council, in collaboration with the Society for Sport and Exercise Psychology of Taiwan and its Local Organizing Committee, I extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join us in this 15th ISSP Congress, in Taipei, September 30- October 04, 2021.
Aligning with ISSP’s high quality organizational reputation and our mission as a provider of worldwide academic and cultural exchanges among scholars and practitioners, we look to engage with you in Taipei. Presently, our Managing Council is working tirelessly on several fronts in relation to this upcoming global event. On one front, we are systematically identifying a thorough balance of topics that build upon existing and emerging interests, spanning the areas of sport and exercise psychology. We are taking into consideration well established, emerging, and foreseeable subject areas for the future, to ensure that our past, present, and future coalesce. From the identification of topics, we are honing a list of keynote presenters, balancing cultural diversity in as many forms as we can, comprised of professionals from the various global regions, male and female presenters, scholars and practitioners, and thematic foci.
This Congress will also aggressively push forward our focus on innovation, as we work with the local organizing committee to foster rich, meaningful exchanges among those in attendance. Some of this innovation will be in terms of extending beyond traditional presentation formats. We are also now working to offer guidance in terms of how presenters for this congress might structure their content to offer augmented uptake to you, our membership. We will launch these new presentation formats in 2021, and promise that you will benefit in terms of gaining a meaningful return on your investment.
This 15th ISSP World Congress event will also be a cultural exchange, physically situated in the heart of Asia. You will be invited to tour local heritage sites, guided toward local eateries, and more broadly, encouraged to experience firsthand, Asian humility and hospitality. Our location sites are being handpicked to offer you defining and enriching experiences that balance scholarly exchanges and touring opportunities. So, in short, get ready for the congress experience of your life!
Warmest wishes,
Robert Schinke, President of the International Society of Sport Psychology
